Sending information to or contacting DWC

If the information you want to send includes:

  • exchanges — information shared between parties before a benefit review conference (BRC) or hearing; or
  • hearing exhibits — information about a claim that you want the administrative law judge to consider;

then use one of the following methods:

  • Email:
  • BRC_Exchanges@tdi.texas.gov (Use an underscore between BRC and Exchanges).
  • CCH_Exhibits@tdi.texas.gov (Use an underscore between CCH and Exhibits).
  • Fax: 512-804-4011
    • Break your documents into separate sections of less than 40 pages each.
    • Fax each section separately with a cover page.
    • Each cover page should include:
      • the claim number; and
      • the number of each section. For example, Section 1 of 3, Section 2 of 3, and so on.
  • Mail:

  • Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP): An SFTP account is a secure, electronic way to upload your documents.

If the information you want to send includes:

  • forms — forms sent by the parties asking for action. For example, to set a BRC or hearing, to obtain clarification of a designated doctor report, or to change an address; or
  • requests — formal requests to an administrative law judge. For example, a request for a continuance, request to modify issues, request to compel answers to interrogatories, or request to order a subpoena;

 then use one of the following methods:

If you have questions about procedures, such as rescheduling the proceeding or sending exchanges, exhibits, or requests, you may contact Hearings at 512-804-4010, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Central time.

For general questions, you can also call DWC Customer Service at 1-800-252-7031, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Central time.

You should attend by video if you can, by using your computer, smart phone, or tablet. If you don’t have internet access, then attend by calling in.

When your virtual proceeding was scheduled, you got a letter with information on how to attend. This letter is called a set notice.

Follow the directions on the set notice and go online to tdi-dwc-hearings.zoom.us/ and enter your Meeting ID.

To attend by phone, call the number on the set notice and enter the Meeting ID.

Call the Appeals Panel at 512-804-4020, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Central time.

As of October 10, 2022, DWC is holding contested case hearings at the new Barbara Jordan Building, 1601 Congress Avenue, in the Capitol Complex.

If you are driving to an Austin hearing, plan your parking arrangements ahead of the scheduled hearing.

There is limited on-street metered parking near the Barbara Jordan Building. Also, DWC has limited free parking spaces available for hearing participants.

To use DWC-provided parking, contact DWC at least five working days before your hearing. DWC will email you a parking pass. Print the pass and place it on your vehicle’s front window.  

If you need a parking pass mailed to you, contact DWC at least ten working days before your hearing.
