This week, Francis Hall, the former co-owner of Bill Hall Jr. Trucking turned herself into Bexar County authorities. There had been a warrant out for Hall’s arrest since June 30 of this year when a Travis County grand jury indicted her for fraud.

Texas A&M University, Public Policy Research Institute is starting their biennial survey of injured employees on behalf of the Texas Department of Insurance, Workers’ Compensation Research and Evaluation Group (REG). The results will be used in REG’s Network Report Card required by law.

The Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) recognized Tyler Beverages with the Lone Star Safety Program Award for its exemplary workplace health and safety programs and low rates of work-related injuries and illnesses. Tyler Beverages bottles and distributes soft drinks and other beverages, and packages and wholesales bagged and block ice. The company employs 98 people in the Tyler area.

On March 24, 2022, a U.S. district judge sentenced Clinton Battle, M.D. of Arlington to 12 years in federal prison based on a conviction and guilty plea from July 2021.

A grand jury has returned indictments against three attorneys and two law firms in Lewisville and Houston. The indictments stem from Texas Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) Fraud Unit investigations that were referred to DWC’s prosecutor embedded in the Travis County District Attorney’s Office.

The Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) recently recognized Capacity of Texas with a Lone Star Safety Award for its exemplary workplace safety program. Capacity of Texas employs 119 workers at its Longview plant. It manufactures terminal truck tractors for ports and railway hubs around the world.
