Amusement ride requirements

Latest updates

Wet Willie Water Slides: TDI doesn’t regulate these slides anymore. The Legislature passed House Bill 1553 in 2023 that says they don’t meet the definition of an amusement ride. The bill also clarifies the challenge courses exception under Occupations Code 2151.107.

TDI is updating its rules and should have them ready for comment in mid-July.

3 steps to getting an amusement ride compliance sticker

According to Texas law, every amusement ride must display a compliance sticker. To get a compliance sticker for a ride you own, follow these three steps.

Amusement ride reports

TDI updates its reports at least once a month on the last Friday of the month. If you had a change to your compliance sticker or insurance policy, you can ask that we make the update before the next monthly report.
