Re:   Denial of the Petition for Determination of Catastrophe


In accordance with the Texas Insurance Code, Section 542.059, and 28 TAC 5.9303, the Texas Department of Insurance has determined that based on the information provided in the Petition for Determination of Catastrophe that State Farm Insurance Companies submitted to the Texas Department of Insurance on September 12, 2011, in connection with numerous destructive wildfires occurring in the counties of Anderson, Bastrop, Bexar, Caldwell, Camp, Cass, Colorado, Fayette, Gregg, Grimes, Harrison, Henderson, Hill, Houston, Hunt, Leon, Limestone, Marion, Montgomery, Nacogdoches, Palo Pinto, Red River, Rusk, Smith, Tarrant, Travis, Upshur, Van Zandt, Walker, Waller, and Williamson on September 4, 2011 through September 12, 2011, a determination of a weather-related catastrophe or major natural disaster for the purpose of claims processing is not warranted at this time.

The above-mention Petition is hereby denied and all claims resulting directly from the above-mentioned event shall be processed pursuant to the deadlines provided in Texas Insurance Code, Chapter 542, Subchapter B.
