About the Safety Violations Hotline
The Safety Violations Hotline is a bilingual, 24-hour, toll-free service that helps Texas employees and employers address unsafe working conditions. In Texas, private-sector employers must follow federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
Hotline staff can give advice and recommendations to help employers comply with occupational safety standards. However, DWC does not have regulatory or legal authority to investigate private-sector employers or enforce OSHA regulations.
DWC safety professionals can help determine the appropriate steps to address reported hazards and may direct you to the regulatory agency responsible for enforcement.
Discuss a hazard
To discuss a workplace hazard, call our toll-free hotline at 800-452-9595, or email SafetyHotline@tdi.texas.gov. Staff members speak English and Spanish. Your contact information will remain confidential.
The hotline only helps with work-related safety and health matters. For help with workers’ compensation claims or disputes contact DWC at 800-252-7031, option 1.
Download employer coverage notices
Texas employers must post notices about the hotline in English and Spanish. It is illegal for an employer to retaliate against an employee who, in good faith, reports safety violations.
