Specialty: travel insurance
A specialty travel insurance license can be issued to a travel agency, the franchisee of a travel agency, or public carrier to sell:
- Accident and health insurance.
- Insurance that provides coverage for traveler expenses due to trip cancellation or interruption of a planned trip.
- Personal effects insurance.
- Life insurance.
- Any insurance in connection with the transportation or accommodations arranged through a travel agency.
Apply for a license
Training
- You must complete training programs given by the insurance agency and the insurance company.
- A person with this license can train employees who will offer travel insurance to customers.
Fingerprint background check
A fingerprint background check is not needed for a travel insurance license.Application: agent or agency
- If you want to apply for an agent license:

- The application fee is $50.
- A signed Appointment certification (Form FIN700) must be attached to the application.
- If you want to apply for an agency license:

- The application fee is $50.
- On the application, you must give information for:
- All executive officers, directors, or partners who administer the agency’s operations in Texas.
- All individuals and entities in control of the agency’s operations.
- A signed Appointment certification (Form FIN700) must be attached to the application.

Temporary license
