DWC holds contested case hearings at the Barbara Jordan Building in the Capitol Complex, located at 1601 Congress Avenue.

If you are driving to your Austin hearing, you’ll need to plan for parking. There are a few on-street metered spaces near the building and DWC has arranged a limited number of free parking spots for visitors who have hearings. Here’s a video to help you with parking and entering the building.

Discount interest rate set

DWC has determined that any interest or discount provided for in the Texas Labor Code shall be at the rate of 8.57 percent. The rate is effective July 1, 2024, through September 30, 2024.

Deputy commissioner receives award for outstanding leadership

Deputy Commissioner of Health and Safety Mary Landrum recently received the 2024 Women in Texas Government Award for Outstanding Leadership. This biennial award honors women in state service who are helping to shape the future of Texas by contributing their notable talents and skills.

DWC seeks comments on employer forms

DWC is accepting public comments on three forms: DWC Form-001, Employer's first report of injury or illness; DWC Form-002, Employer's report for reimbursement of voluntary payment; and DWC Form-006, Supplemental report of injury. 

DWC proposes rules to implement House Bill 2468

DWC is accepting public comments on proposed rules amending 28 TAC Chapters 127 and 131. The amendments and new sections implement House Bill 2468, 88th Legislature, Regular Session (2023). HB 2468 expanded eligibility requirements and created a new qualifying condition and review process specific to first responders for lifetime income benefits.
