The Texas Department of Insurance (Department) is transferring responsibilities relating to the registration and renewal of registration, surrender and nonrenewal of registration, and maintaining current registrant information for viatical and life settlement providers, provider representatives, and brokers from the Life/Health Division to the Company Licensing & Registration Division within the Financial Program.
The Life/Health Division will process applications for registration and renewals of registration, surrenders and nonrenewals of registration, and maintain and update registrant information received before June 1, 2008, and will continue to receive and process form filings, annual reports, and surrender reports submitted by viatical and life settlement providers, provider representatives, and brokers received by the Department after that date.
Beginning June 1, 2008, applications for registration and renewal of registration, communications relating to surrender and nonrenewal of registration and changes in registrant information should be directed to The Texas Department of Insurance, Company Licensing & Registration Division MC 305-2C, P.O. Box 149104, Austin TX 78714-9104, or 333 Guadalupe Street, Austin TX 78701.
The Department has not made any changes to the registration application or renewal forms. The Department will advise interested parties in advance of any upcoming changes to these forms. Registration application and renewal forms can be found online at the Department's website at http://www.tdi.state.tx.us/licensing/company/clviatlifepage.html.
