Re:   Regarding weather-related events occurring on 8/21-24/99 declared catastrophe


In accordance with the Insurance Code, Article 21.55 §5(d), and 28 TAC 5.9303, the Texas Department of Insurance has determined the weather-related events occurring on August 21, 1999, through August 24, 1999, in the counties of Aransas, Atascosa, Bandera, Bee, Bexar, Brooks, Calhoun, Cameron, Dewit, Dimmit, Duval, Edwards, Frio, Goliad, Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, Jim Wells, Karnes, Kenedy, Kerr, Kleberg, LaSalle, Live Oak, Maverick, McMullen, Nueces, Real, Refugio, San Patricio, Starr, Val Verde, Victoria, Webb, Willacy, Wilson, Zapata and Zavala Counties are a catastrophe for the purpose of claims processing.

Claims resulting directly from the above-defined catastrophe shall be subject to the additional time periods allowed by Article 21.55 §5(d), Texas Insurance Code for the processing of claims.
