Re:   Weather-related events occurring on September 9 through September 13, 1998 in the counties of Angelina, Aransas, Austin, Brazoria, Calhoun, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Hardin, Harris, Jasper, Jackson, Jefferson, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Nacogdoches, et al for the purposes of claim processing


In accordance with the Insurance Code, Article 21.55 §5(d), and 28 TAC 5.9303, the Texas Department of Insurance has determined the weather-related event caused by Tropical Storm Frances occurring on September 9 - September 13, 1998, in the counties of Angelina, Aransas, Austin, Brazoria, Calhoun, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Hardin, Harris, Jasper, Jackson, Jefferson, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Nacogdoches, Nueces, Orange, Polk, Refugio, Sabine, San Augustine, San Patricio, Tyler, Victoria, Waller, Washington, and Wharton, is a catastrophe for the purpose of claims processing.

Claims resulting directly from the above-defined catastrophe shall be subject to the additional time periods allowed by Article 21.55 §5(d), Texas Insurance Code for the processing of claims.
