Advisory 99-05

Work Status Report

At the December 2, 1999 Public Meeting, the Commissioners adopted Rule 129.5 relating to Work Status Report and Rule 126.6 relating to Orders for Required Medical Examinations. These rules are effective on December 26, 1999 and make reference to a new report relating to an injured employee's ability to work called the Work Status Report. This new report is intended to be a primary tool to report disability status information to insurance carriers and work status/restrictions to employers. Attached is a copy of the new TWCC-73, Work Status Report, to be used in conjunction with these rules.

System participants, and health care providers in particular, are encouraged to review the new rules and the requirements placed on doctors treating workers' compensation claims within the system. Copies of the new rules may be obtained from the Commission's Publications Section or viewed on the Commission's web site at An electronic version of the TWCC-73 is available on the Commission's web site as well.

Signed this 20th day of December, 1999.
