TDI Seeks Professionals to Conduct Windstorm Model Peer Review

The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) is seeking professionals to conduct a peer review of a model developed to determine causes of insured losses on the coast.

The model was developed by an expert panel appointed to advise the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) concerning the extent to which a loss to insurable property was incurred as a result of wind, waves, tidal surges, or rising waters not caused by waves or surges.

The panel will meet at 2 p.m. January 7 in Austin to discuss its work and give the public an opportunity to comment and ask questions on the model being developed. (Archived video webcast - 61 minutes.)

Peer reviewers will be paid for conducting the review.

  • Application deadline:  January 25, 2016
  • Peer review period:  February 5 to March 2, 2016

You can download an application, which includes information about qualifications, scope of work, and compensation at www.tdi.texas.gov/commercial/documents/peer-review-app.pdf.

Please share this information with anyone interested in participating in this peer review. Visit www.tdi.texas.gov/commercial/pctwia.html#expert for more information about the expert panel.
