Media Advisory: State Fire Marshal and Longview Fire Marshal's Office Host Two Discussion Series in Longview

LONGVIEW, TX – The State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) and the Longview Fire Marshal’s Office will host two discussions on April 1, 2015 in Longview. 

 The morning session will be devoted to the Fire Marshal Discussion Series, an open discussion between local code enforcement officers and representatives from multiple state agencies. This forum is designed to facilitate communication between authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) and state agencies, discuss differences in code requirements, and improve the level of service provided for state-licensed facilities.  The following state agencies will attend the Fire Marshal Discussion Series: the Department of Aging and Disability Services, the Department of Family and Protective Services, the Department of Licensing and Regulation, Texas Commission on Fire Protection, and the State Fire Marshal's Office.

The afternoon session will be devoted to the Fire Investigation Discussion Series, an informational series about current topics and trends in fire investigations, SFMO investigative services, and the SFMO's role in fire investigations.
