Division of Workers’ Compensation Offers Educational Seminar for Medical Office Staff May 28th in Austin

AUSTIN, TX — The Division of Workers’ Compensation  (DWC) offers an educational seminar, Texas Workers’ Compensation 101 for Medical Office Staff,  at the DWC Central Office, 7551 Metro Center Drive in Austin on May 28, 2015. The seminar is free of charge and will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The educational seminar will provide practical information for medical office staff managing the administrative processes related to Texas workers’ compensation claims. The seminar includes presentations on the following six session topics:

  • Introduction to the Texas Workers’ Compensation System
  • Intake and Coverage Verification
  • Treating the Injured Employee: Treatment Guidelines, Preauthorization and Utilization Review
  • Billing and Reimbursement: Medical Bill Processing and Fee Guidelines
  • Dispute Resolution
  • Assistance & Resources
