TDI USING PEARSON VUE / SIRCON CE SERVICES

The Texas Department of Insurance is in the process of implementing a new Continuing Education Compliance contract with Pearson Vue. Beginning February 17, 2009, registered CE providers will begin submitting electronic rosters for candidates who have completed Texas approved CE courses through the Sircon Compliance Express system. Visit Compliance Express to see it and register: www.sircon.com.

This new automated CE compliance monitoring system will allow licensees, insurers, and the Department to monitor the status of all licensees' compliance with Texas CE requirements.

All Texas CE Credits earned on 02-17-2009 and later must be reported to the Department's Continuing Education Compliance Contractor, Pearson Vue (PV). Reports (roster reports) should be entered on-line in Sircon Corp's Compliance Express. Sircon is PV's subcontractor. Compliant completion certificates will be generated automatically for providers, and the hours submitted will be recorded in a "banking" system that will track each individual licensee's progress toward meeting the Department's CE requirement. The Sircon system will also report all non-compliant individuals to the Department for administrative action.

As well as being able to enter CE hours earned by licensees into the tracking system, providers will also enter new and revised courses on line. The ability will also be there to perform other functions, such as registering new providers.

Another service with a potential effect on a provider's class attendance will be the providers' ability to post information about actual course offerings each time a classroom course is given. This posting will show addresses, dates, and provider contact information. Compliance Express, a web-based service, is currently in use by hundreds of Continuing Education and Pre-licensing Education providers in 15 other states. The Department has contracted with Pearson Vue to make this service available to Texas CE providers and licensees. Providers will be able to manage continuing education processes electronically using the Compliance Express services.
