EXAMINATION:

Note:  The application and license fees may be submitted either before or after taking the exam. The application must be submitted within 12 months of passing the exam, or the exam must be retaken. If the application is submitted before taking the exam, the exam must be passed within one year; or a new license application and fee must be submitted.

  1. Register and pay for your examination and schedule an appointment to take it:

    • Online: Register online at www.pearsonvue.com/tx/insurance/.  Click on 'Schedule a test' and follow the prompts.
    • By Phone: You may register and schedule your examination by calling 888-754-7667 between 8 am and 5 pm (Central time), Monday through Friday.
    • By Fax or Mail: You can register by fax or mail in two steps: (1) register and pay your examination fee and; (2) schedule your examination appointment by phone.
  2. Prepare for the Examination:

You can view a complete outline specific to your examination online at www.pearsonvue.com/tx/.

  3. Take the Examination:

    • Bring the identification with you to the testing center. The identification document must be government issued, contain both current photo and your signature, and have a name that exactly matches the name used to register for the examination.
    • Pass the exam.

FINGERPRINTING:

NOTE:  The FAST Pass Fingerprint receipt will contain either a TCN# or UE ID#.   The current electronic application requires the TCN#.  If your FAST Pass Fingerprint Receipt contains a UE ID#, you may obtain your TCN# at http://uenroll.identogo.com and check the status of your fingerprint process.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SUBMIT AN ELECTRONIC APPLICATION BEFORE OBTAINING A FAST PASS FINGERPRINT RECEIPT.

The application requires information that is only located on the fingerprint receipt.  If you submit an application that does not have this fingerprint information, your application will be rejected and your fee will NOT be refunded.

Obtain your Fingerprint Receipt from Morpho Trust USA or a Pearson VUE test center if you do not currently hold an active Texas insurance license or have not previously submitted fingerprints to the state of Texas.

Refer to the Electronic Fingerprinting Process for detailed instructions / information.
