Internal/External Posting – TDI Employees and General Public

The Manager of the Property Management Program oversees the daily operations and activities of the Property Management Program.


This position:

  • oversees property management functions for all TDI facilities, including headquarters in Austin at both the Hobby Building and Metro Center Blvd., and 26 field offices across the state;
  • manages facility teams at the Hobby Building and Metro Center Blvd.;
  • oversees lease activities for TDI facilities, including field offices, by coordinating with the Texas Facilities Commission and other lessors;
  • oversees the agency’s fleet vehicle program, including approximately 65 vehicles at various locations;
  • oversees warehouse functions, including receiving and storage;
  • oversees asset management;
  • oversees space utilization needs and inquiries;
  • may require light travel to field offices a few times each year; and
  • performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a field relative to assignment. Education and experience relevant to the position requirements may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.


Additionally, this position requires:

  • five years of experience in the management of a business function, program, or team relative to the assignment;

Additionally, this position prefers:

  • training and experience with the American with Disabilities Act and Texas Accessibility Standards; and
  • ACAD Certification or a two-year degree using ACAD design software for furniture and general office configuration, assembling, dismantling, and reassembling modular furniture.

This position requires demonstrated knowledge of:

  • state laws, rules, procedures, and regulations relevant to facility management, lease management, space utilization, and planning; and
  • management control and internal reporting techniques.

This position requires demonstrated skill in:

  • developing goals and objectives;
  • problem solving, critical thinking, decision making, and planning;
  • using Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook; and
  • using personal computers sufficient to enter and extract data from related systems and programs.

This position requires the demonstrated ability to:

  • plan, assign, and direct the work of others;
  • read and interpret floorplans, blueprints, and inventory listings;
  • interpret policies, procedures, and regulations;
  • maintain a system of record-keeping;
  • manage and coordinate multiple tasks and priorities in order to meet necessary deadlines;
  • communicate and work effectively with a wide range of people with varied skills, knowledge, and backgrounds, including TDI employees, the public, the insurance industry, and elected officials and their staff;
  • apply critical thinking to analyze and solve work problems; and
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the agency and external customers.
