Current Opportunity: Title Exams Auditor

Internal/External Posting – TDI Employees and General Public

The Title Exams Auditor performs compliance audits and determines the financial condition of title agents.


This position:

  • evaluates escrow accounting system internal controls and procedures;
  • tests abstract plants for compliance;
  • reviews financial statements; and
  • reviews guaranty file documentation for compliance.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.  Education and experience relevant to position requirements may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis. 

COLLEGE TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED WITH SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION.


Additionally, this position:

  • requires two years of experience in an accounting or auditing position.


This position requires demonstrated knowledge of:

  • auditing and accounting techniques; and
  • title insurance regulations.

This position requires demonstrated skill in:

  • effectively managing resources;
  • problem-solving, decision making, and planning; and
  • the use of personal computers and software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

This position requires the demonstrated ability to:

  • handle multiple tasks and manage conflicting priorities in order to meet deadlines;
  • communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees and the general public;
  • understand and carry out complex instructions;
  • make decisions in accordance with rules, regulations, and procedures;
  • apply critical thinking to analyze and solve work problems;
  • work independently with minimal supervision; and
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the agency and external customers.
