Current Opportunity: Insurance Specialist II (3 Positions)

The Insurance Specialist performs technical work regarding Agent & Adjuster Licensing (AAL) program filings. Work involves providing technical services to agency staff, other government agencies, and the general public.


This position:

  • provides technical assistance to Title Licensing,  Agent and Adjuster Licensing and other agency personnel;
  • processess all types of Agent & Adjusters Licensing Office filings;
  • responds to technical inquiries from public;
  • reviews, analyzes and corrects data in the licensing database(Sircon) in order to maintain the integrity of the information;
  • assists with developing methods of maintaining and organizing licensing data due to changes in licensing laws and internal procedures;
  • assists staff in user testing of the data;
  • analyzes, develops, coordinates, reviews and implements policies and procedures to process Title Licensing, and Agent and Adjuster Licensing filings;
  • solves new, complex or technical licensing issues; and
  • coordinates special projects, including optimizing existing processes within the Licensing database (Sircon).

Qualifications

This position requires sixty college hours. Education and experience may be substituted for one another on a year for year basis.


Additionally, this position:

  • requires one year experience in technical insurance or in field relative to assignment; and
  • prefers eighteen months experience in technical work, program administration, or a field relative to assignment; and
  • knowledge of license application processing procedures.


This position requires demonstrated knowledge of:

  • statues and rules governing title insurance; and
  • general office and administrative procedures.

This position requires demonstrated skill in:

  • problem solving, decision making and planning;
  • effective training of technical employees; and
  • Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook, and Collage software.  

This position requires the demonstrated ability to:

  • communicate professional and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees and the public;
  • apply critical thinking to analyze and solve work problems;
  • review, analyze, explain and resolve complex real estate transactions and title insurance issues;
  • comprehend and apply rules and statues including the Texas Insurance Code, Texas Administrative Code and related laws;
  • exercise judgement and discretion in applying and interpreting department policies and procedures;
  • establish goals and objectives;
  • file and maintain accurate records and logs.
  • organize and prioritize workload;
  • concentrate on tedious and repetitive work; and
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, agency staff and general public.
