Current Opportunity: Examinations Program Specialist

Internal/External Posting – TDI Employees and General Public

The Examinations Program Specialist performs a variety of administrative, technical and complex duties in order to ensure effective and efficient office operations. This position also assists with establishing program goals and objectives and developing program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules and regulations.


This position:

  • assists with the compiling and analysis of complex data and preparing reports;
  • prepares, interprets, and disseminates information regarding open records;
  • performs as back up staff person on the Sircon examination billing system;
  • assists with the review of travel vouchers, to include the interpretation of applicable travel statutes;
  • assists with maintenance of the section’s self-directed budget and examination work papers, such as editing, filing and preparation;
  • transmits examination reports to other states;
  • responds to complex inquiries regarding administrative regulations, policies and procedures on exam report formats, and travel request;
  • supports the Chief and Assistant Chief Examiners; andperforms other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in a field relative to assignment.  Education and experience may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis. 


Additionally, this position requires:

  • one year of experience in office administration or in a field relative to the assignment.


This position requires demonstrated knowledge of:

  • office practices and administrative procedures;
  • Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook; and
  • business or program terminology, spelling, punctuation, grammar, typing formats, and word processing techniques and procedures.

This position requires demonstrated skill in:

  • communicating technical information professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees and the general public;
  • problem solving, decision making, and planning;
  • developing goals and objectives; and
  • using personal computers sufficient to enter and extract data from related systems and programs.

This position requires the demonstrated ability to:

  • apply critical thinking to comprehend complex regulatory rules and statutes to determine compliance or solve problems;
  • draft clear and concise reports of findings;
  • make decisions in accordance with rules, regulations, and procedures;
  • organize, prioritize, coordinate, and manager multiple tasks and special projects in order to meet established timelines while maintaining a consistent standard of quality;
  • maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; and
  • work independently on a variety of administrative and technical assignments.

A skills test will be administered during the interview.
