Current Opportunity: Backline Support Analyst

Internal/External Posting – TDI Employees and General Public

The Customer Support Backline Analyst performs complex (journey-level) computer systems analysis work related to the administration of enterprise software and security at both the end-user computer and server level.


This position:

  • ensures customer service levels through quick response and analysis of customer requests and incident reports;
  • oversees and provides guidance in troubleshooting and solving advanced problems relating to computer systems or programs;
  • analyzes, tests and deploys new or modified images and scripts for desktop application installation;
  • communicates technical solutions and project documentation effectively both verbally and in writing;
  • may evaluate and recommend action on testing and certification of software and hardware upgrades;
  • may train others; and
  • performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in computer science, management information systems, business administration or related field. Education and experience relevant to position may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis. 


Additionally, this position requires:

  • two years experience in administrative support of enterprise user accounts and security for end-user systems and servers.
  • a valid Texas driver’s license; and
  • minimum automobile liability insurance.

Driving records will be checked on all final candidates(s) for this position.


Preferences for this position include:

  • three years experience in direct technical support of business users, both local and remote;
  • experience in administration and support of Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Server 20xx, Group Policy, Office 365, McAfee EPO, WSUS, Powershell, SCCM or similar products; and
  • experience in a state, local, or federal government environment.

This position requires demonstrated knowledge of:

  • the limitations and capabilities of computer systems;
  • the techniques used in the design of non-automated systems;
  • information technology equipment;
  • information security standards and practices;
  • applicable programming languages;
  • computer hardware and software;
  • writing program code, and of automated mapping;
  • desktop imaging methods and usage;
  • Microsoft Office Professional and all subcomponents;
  • Microsoft computer operating systems such as Windows 7, Server 2008 and 2012; and
  • Microsoft enterprise management tools such as Active Directory, Group Policy Management and SCCM.

This position requires demonstrated skill in:

  • operating a motor vehicle in a safe courteous manner in compliance with traffic laws;
  • coordinating and solving problems; in scheduling, testing, installing, and implementing programs; and in troubleshooting computer systems; and
  • managing multiple priorities to meet a wide range of project deadlines while maintaining a consistent standard of quality.

This position requires the demonstrated ability to:

  • satisfy the conditions required to maintain fully-qualified driving status;
  • analyze systems and procedures;
  • write and revise standards and procedures;
  • handle multiple projects;
  • communicate effectively with all staff and all levels of employees;
  • train staff in the use and maintenance of complex systems in a clear and concise manner; and
  • understand and follow complex instructions.
