Current Opportunity: Insurance Specialist

Internal/External Posting – TDI Employees and General Public

The Insurance Specialist performs technical duties including processing and performing data entry on various financial filings for the Financial Analysis Section.


This position:

  • prepares files for scanning and document preparation and verifies quality;
  • disseminates company information to the public and staff over the telephone or in person;
  • performs data entry for various company information;
  • prepares, validates and scans various financial and holding company documents;
  • processes open records requests;
  • assists with processing of financial filings; and
  • provides backup duties to answering the phone and covering statement room window.

Qualifications

This position requires thirty college hours. Education and experience may be substituted for one another on a year for year basis. 


Additionally, this position requires:

  • one year of experience in technical insurance matters or in a field relative to assignment.


This position requires demonstrated knowledge of:

  • insurance principles and practices; and
  • applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

This position requires demonstrated skill in:

  • entering data accurately and timely;
  • problem solving, decision making and planning;
  • using Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook; and
  • operating standard office equipment.

This position requires the demonstrated ability to:

  • communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees and the general public;
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff, insurance industry representatives, and the general public;
  • apply critical thinking to evaluate, analyze and interpret information;
  • exercise good judgment and discretion;
  • meet deadlines;
  • understand and follow instructions of a technical nature;
  • concentrate on detail while performing tedious, repetitive work; and
  • lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
