Current Opportunity: Manager of Records Processing and Insurance Coverage

Internal/External - TDI Employees and General Public

This position, within the Business Process program area, performs complex managerial work administering the daily operations and activities of records processing and insurance coverage of DWC records management and support. The manager provides daily leadership and management to employees in order to achieve established production goals.

This position:

  • establishes goals and objectives, develops and approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals, and evaluates employee performance;
  • plans, implements, coordinates, and monitors electronic file movement, data entry, insurance coverage and other electronic workflow processes to meet daily goals;
  • monitors employee compliance with policies and procedures;
  • develops and evaluates budget requests, monitors budget expenditures, and makes adjustments as necessary;
  • consults with public and private agencies to resolve problems, identify needs, and discuss electronic file movement processes;
  • identifies areas of needed change and makes recommendations to improve operations; and
  • assists with special projects and performs other duties as assigned.


Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in business, records management or other related field. Experience and education relevant to position requirements may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.

Additionally, this position:

  • requires five (5) years’ experience as an executive manager or project manager in the administration of business or government, with two (2) of those years of work experience in a field related to the assignment.


Specific areas that would qualify as experience in the administration of business or government would

be experience in demonstrating leadership, managing people and resources, managing projects,

planning, coordinating functions, or directing the work of others.

This position requires demonstrated knowledge of:

  • records management practices, electronic forms processing, data entry, and insurance coverage;
  • principles and practices of employee management and evaluation;
  • the Public Information Act and methods for the appropriate storage and release of sensitive and confidential information;
  • business and reporting data analysis;
  • project management methodologies; and
  • personal computers and related software.

This position requires demonstrated skill in:

  • problem solving, decision making, and planning;
  • recognizing deficiencies in employee knowledge and defining training opportunities;
  • using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems;
  • report writing and documentation with a strong attention to detail;
  • use of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint and Visio;
  • ability to manage business functions and establish goals and objectives for employees;
  • effective communication (oral and written) to convey complex information to a variety of audiences; and
  • establishing and maintaining a harmonious working relationship with co-workers, agency staff and external customers.

This position requires the demonstrated ability to:

  • plan, assign, and supervise the work of others to ensure program production goals are met;
  • recognize differences in employee learning styles and adapt training accordingly;
  • analyze and evaluate information in order to develop creative and workable solutions to complex problems and issues;
  • create reports, processes, policies, procedures, standards, and manuals;
  • apply critical thinking to evaluate, interpret, translate and communicate complex technical information, policies and procedures;
  • manage multiple tasks and priorities in order to meet deadlines;
  • interface and communicate effectively with high-level management and project stakeholders, including public and private agencies;
  • provide feedback in a constructive and instructive manner;
  • work effectively in a professional team environment; and
  • work independently and in team settings.
