Fraud Unit Newsworthy Information

Fraud Unit starts new program, helps tornado victims in North Texas

The Fraud Unit launched a new disaster outreach program --  called CRT (Catastrophe Response Team) -- in December after tornadoes hit the Dallas area. Investigators met with Garland and Rowlett city officials and law enforcement to alert them to the warning signs for potential claims fraud by out-of-state contractors and roofers and to offer assistance.  They also patrolled the affected areas to talk with homeowners, roofers, and contractors.
