Revision of Texas Standard Provision For Automobile Policies Editions of April 1, 1955 and October 1, 1966 -- Amendatory Endorsement - Notice
General remarks and official action taken:
On this date the State Board of Insurance considered the complaints received on the application of automobile insurance policy conditions relative to bodily injury liability and property damage liability coverages notice of accident, claim or suit.
After careful consideration the State Board of Insurance hereby prescribes a revision of the Texas Standard Provisions For Automobile Policies by adding a new amendatory endorsement reading as follows:
Policy Forms Providing Bodily Injury Liability Coverage and
Property Damage Liability Coverage)
This endorsement forms a part of Policy No. _________________________________ issued to __________________________ by the ____________________________ (Name of Insurance Company) at its Agency located (city and state) ___________________________ and is effective from _________________ (12:01 A.M. Standard Time).
(The information above is required only when this endorsement is issued subsequent to preparation of the policy.)
As respects bodily injury liability coverage and property damage liability coverage, unless the company is prejudiced by the insured's failure to comply with the requirement, any provision of this policy requiring the insured to give notice of action, occurrence or loss, or requiring the insured to forward demands, notices, summons or other legal process, shall not bar liability under this policy.
