Notice is hereby given that by Commissioner's Order No. 08-0886, dated October 10, 2008, the Commissioner of Insurance has adopted amendments to the Texas Basic Manual of Rules, Classifications and Experience Rating Plan for Workers' Compensation and Employers' Liability Insurance (Manual) pertaining to an acquisition expense discount. The discount allows insurers that can identify and document reduced acquisition expenses related to writing member of a common group or organization to pass on the savings to these policyholders. These amendments are effective November 8, 2008, which is 15 days after notice of the adoption of the amended rule is published in the Texas Register.
Copies of the revised pages to the Manual are sent to those who have purchased a Manual from the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) and requested to receive the updated pages. A copy of the Manual may be obtained from TDI at a cost of $30 per Manual in accordance with the order information sheet attached to this circular or can be downloaded from the TDI Web Page at http://www.tdi.state.tx.us/wc/regulation/index.html.
